The OpenTelemetry .NET project is a client for OpenTelemetry, a collection of tools, APIs, and SDKs that enable uniform collection and export of telemetry data (logs, metrics, and traces) from applications and services. This repository supports multiple installable components available on NuGet, including the OpenTelemetry .NET API and SDK, instrumentation libraries for ASP.NET Core, gRPC clients, HTTP clients, SQL clients, and exporter libraries for Console, In-memory, OpenTelemetry Protocol (OTLP), Prometheus AspNetCore, Prometheus HttpListener, and Zipkin. The project is designed to be extensible, allowing users to build custom instrumentation libraries, exporters, processors, and samplers. It is stable across all three signals and supports all officially supported versions of .NET and .NET Framework, except for .NET Framework 3.5. The project has a weekly meeting for contributors, and maintainer, approver, triager, and emeritus maintainer/approver/triager roles. Daily builds are published to MyGet for installation.
