GoQuorum is a distributed ledger protocol based on Ethereum with enhanced privacy features and alternative consensus mechanisms. It is a fork of go-ethereum and offers significant improvements such as privacy through public/private state separation and peer-to-peer encrypted message exchanges using Tessera, alternative consensus mechanisms like QBFT, Istanbul BFT, Clique POA Consensus, and Raft-based Consensus, peer permissioning, account management, and a pluggable architecture. The project includes a quickstart tool for setting up a development network, various projects like quorum-remix-plugin, Cakeshop, and quorum-examples, and official Docker containers. Third-party tools and libraries have also been developed for GoQuorum, including Chainlens Blockchain Explorer, Quorum-Genesis, Quorum Maker, ERC20 REST service, Nethereum Quorum, and web3j-quorum. Contributions are welcome, and security bugs should be reported through email to ensure responsible disclosure. The project is licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 and GNU General Public License v3.0 for the go-ethereum library and binaries, respectively, with the crypto/secp256k1 sub-module requiring the secp256k1 standalone library under 3-clause BSD.
